The Basilisk Hotel is a mid-range property that places a great deal of emphasis on simplicity and straightforwardness. A central element of its appeal is its garden terrace, looking out on beautiful trees and little fishpond. The 56 generously sized guestrooms are light and airy and whilst the decor is by no means the product of the latest fads, the rooms display dignified, comfortable middle-class style. The Orkus-Kunstkeller (Orkus 'art-cellar') restaurant is very inviting. Featuring bare stone walls, high wooden stools and long wooden tables, it has a certain chivalric charm to it.
