My room was small but very functional and kept very clean. Drawbacks were that there were no non-smoking rooms (so room was smelly), no desk space, and not nearly enough outlets for me to work with a laptop (only spare outlet was underneath the light switch at the entrance). Very good points were the great breakfasts - simple but everything so fresh and really good coffee, and excellent service. Basilisk is very central - just a short walk across the river to the main part of Basel.

Kuntsmuseum is excellent; enjoyed walking round the Munster

Basic hotel but good value for money. Decent continental buffet breakfast with boiled eggs. The free travel card is really a worthwhile bonus.

Top Tip
Bar next door to hotel sells .5 litres of Beer for SF 5.20 which is really cheap for Basle. For a really cheaper alternative buy your chilled canned beers from the Coop supermarket for SF 1.55. For a really interesting experience get a ticket for FC Basle and go and watch a game of football.
