Rooms facing inside are quieter - trams start at about 5am. Opposite station.
Top Tip
Small Coop supermarket next door. Station also has shops. Good tram and bus links to all areas of Basel and airport.

Friendly and helpful staff - good restaurant and free travel pass for city and airport arranged. Handy for station and airport bus - airport very quiet and efficient. Did not explore city. Blue train restaurant attatched to Victoria hotel excellent and reasonable.

Good hotel, but ensure that you get a room away from the front (unless you like the noise of trams early/late). One problem that I found is that the VAT is not reclaimable by my company for prepaid hotel bookings, which effectively increases the cost vs. regular business booking.

Basel is a great city, with lots to see and some really nice boutique chocolatiers!

I only stayed one night and did not use any of the facilities. I only met one member of staff (receptionist)who was ok but not overly welcoming. The ambience of the hotel is not very warm and the layout (route to rooms) is a little odd. I would only recommend it for convenience not for an extended stay.

A great hotel, lovely rooms, good breakfast - all at an affordable price. However on the night we were there we were unable to get a table for dinner (as there was a need to make a reservation for a non-smoking table). There is a Chinese restaurant (semi- self-service) close by (out of the main doors and to the right) - reasonably priced - but they don't take credit cards!
The hotel is extremely close to the main railway station - excellent if you have an early morning train!
